A Dialogue with NGOs and Parliamentarians : Linking sexual and reproductive health and HIV to achieve the ICPD & MDGs

Duangkamol Room 2nd floor Siam City Hotel Bangkok,

NGOs were asked to address several key questions in their submissions. These questions were:

  1. What is working now to prevent/reduce HIV in women and children and other vulnerable groups?
  2. Where are, and what are, the gaps and impediments in this work?
  3. What needs to be changed to improve the situation?
  4. What (or where or who) do you rank as the highest priority for action?

Parliamentarians who attended were asked to consider their possible role in addressing these issues and were welcomed to ask questions and seek clarification from speakers after each presentation to enhance the dialogue.

A comprehensive amount of information was provided to the parliamentarians on the day and leading and directed questions generated a good deal of useful discussion.
