EuroMapping 2005
The EuroMapping Project is an initiative of EuroNGOs aimed at providing an overview of the levels of public funding towards financing the ICPD Programme of Action in 17 European countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom) and the European Commission. As well as this, an examination of the policies of each of these countries and the European Commission in relation to sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS and gender is given. It is widely accepted that funding levels for the ICPD Programme of Action fall far short of the commitments made in Cairo, however, statistics are necessary to substantiate these beliefs. The EuroMap provides these statistics. This information can then be used to advocate for the mobilization of increased public funds towards population, sexual and reproductive health, and HIV/AIDS.
