OUR HISTORY

The Asia Pacific Alliance for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (APA) is a network of national, regional and global civil society organizations that advocate for the fulfillment of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for all persons in the Asia Pacific region.

Over the last sixteen years, APA has galvanised and coordinated national and regional advocacy to further commitments made at the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) and its reviews, along with other inter-governmental meetings and conferences related to SRHR, gender and human rights.

APA actively engaged with the national, regional and global civil society consultation and review processes that informed the development of Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development. APA forged coalitions with regional and global networks and NGOs to jointly advocate for SRHR with the U.N. system and governments, and built the capacity of members and partners to advocate at national and regional level.
