APA is a regional voice to strengthen accountability of governments and other stakeholders at all levels. APA advocates for meaningful participation of civil society and encourages greater transparency of governments.
At its core, APA focuses on ensuring that Governments prioritize policy and financial commitments related to SRHR and gender equality that are based on international human rights standards and the outcomes of international intergovernmental conferences and meetings. APA advocates with governments and other stakeholders to strengthen implementation of these commitments through legal and policy reform and enhanced budgetary allocations.
APA generates evidence and critical analysis to inform advocacy efforts at local, national, regional and global levels. APA mobilizes diverse national and regional actors, including community-based networks, and works to build their capacity to monitor the fulfillment of commitments and obligations relating to sexual and reproductive health and rights.
