Climate change impacts everyone, but it disproportionately affects women and vulnerable communities. While it threatens shelter, food, and safety, its effects on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) often go unnoticed, worsening the situation. During natural disasters, access to contraceptives is often suspended, and protection from sexual and gender-based violence becomes more critical. The incidence of child marriages and "climate brides" increases, and access to menstruation and personal hygiene products becomes limited.
APA Member, FDI has undertaken an important study to map and understand the challenges faced by women in all their diversity due to climate change, focusing on its impact on SRHR. We are pleased to share the study with you for your reading and to provide crucial information on SRHR and climate change in Pakistan.
