Our Work

We mobilize civil society action for SRHR in Asia and the Pacific

APA works for the right of every person to have sexual and reproductive health, and the right to bodily autonomy and to have control over and to make free and informed decisions on all matters related to sexuality, reproduction and gender, free from violence, coercion and discrimination. APA uses two main strategies to achieve its objectives, regional advocacy and capacity building.

APA engages in regional and global fora to raise the profile of SRHR in Asia Pacific. We work with our members to ensure that governments are prioritizing issues critical to their national context, with a focus on sexual rights and marginalized groups. We engage in processes focussed on the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) Programme for Action, Beijing Platform for Action, Agenda 2030 and  the international human rights system.

APA provides opportunities for our members to meet, share and build on common experiences. We enhance capacities and facilitate members’ engagement in regional and global processes around ICPD, Beijing, Agenda 2030 and instruments of the international human rights system.
