[English Version] Deepening Inclusion of Women and LGBTIQ+ Forcibly Displaced Persons in Thailand - An Advocacy Toolkit

2024

This toolkit has been developed to support advocacy for furthering the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) of women and LGBTIQ+ forcibly displaced and vulnerable migrants in Thailand – with a particular focus on the urban context.

There is currently a somewhat siloed approach to addressing the SRHR of women and LGBTIQ+ forcibly displaced and vulnerable migrants in Thailand, with some organisations dedicated to advocating for the rights of LGBTIQ+ forcibly displaced persons, whilst others are focused on SRHR. Therefore, the SRHR focus often lacks sensitivity to the unique needs of women and LGBTIQ+ within the forcibly displaced population. The purpose of this toolkit is to bridge these divides and foster collaboration to ensure LGBTIQ+ and women forcibly displaced and vulnerable migrants in Thailand are provided with the full spectrum of SRH care.

A participatory approach was used to develop the toolkit. Two workshops were held with civil society organisations and UN agencies from the refugee ecosystem in Thailand to gather inputs and recommendations for the toolkit. The toolkit was develoepd by APA and APA member Equal AF and was funded by the Julia Taft Project.
