The Second World Summit for Social Development
Joint Side Event
5 November 2025, 13:00-14:30 (AST)
The call for development justice has been voiced out by civil society organizations since the development of Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and is integral to the implementation of the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development and Programme of Action. It emphasizes the need to address the root causes of inequality, poverty and exclusion, ensuring that all individuals and communities can participate in and benefit from development that is truly people centered.
Through this Solution Session, the organizers wish to share good practices of multi-stakeholder cooperation in realizing development that is truly people-centered, one that fully benefits and involves migrants, promoting and ensuring their access to health including sexual and reproductive health and rights, social services and justice, and actualizing meaningful participation of migrants as actors in social development.
The side event is organized by Asia Pacific Alliance for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (APA) with the Asia Pacific Mission for Migrants (APMM), Development Alternatives with Women for a New Era (DAWN), Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) as well as other partners invited to co-organize the side event.
